I am definitely a morning person, and that doesn't really change too much even when I'm on holidays.  The sunrise here is around 6:30 am, it makes you feel like getting up when you know it's so nice out there.

Quail are also frequent visitors

When you think of going to a beach in Hawaii for sun and surf, this is definitely going to be perfect.  As you stand at the top and look at the view before you head down the path it's just a classic beauty.

Unless of course you want to admire the beach from your yacht ...

Mauna Lani Bay

Beach Day #1 

We're planning on going to various beaches this week, aware that there's a definite difference between them.  Some are great for boogie boarding, some for snorkelling, and some for simply relaxing by and enjoying.

Yesterday we drove five minutes north from Waikoloa Beach Resort where we're staying to the beaches at Mauna Lani Bay.

See the guy in the background? He softly played his ukulele most of the afternoon!

Snacks

Today's main job was to head to Costco to stock up on groceries and beverages, Ted was in charge of snacks and this is what we came up with.  At this rate we could come back several pounds heavier than when we arrived!

Good Morning!

We arrived at the Kona Airport about 8:30 local last night, picked up the car and headed to Waikoloa Beach Resort where we'll be for the next 3 1/2 weeks.  After a quick stop at the ABC store for a few essentials, we went to our condo.

This morning's sky is clear blue, and we're having our morning java looking at this beautiful setting on our lanai. 

This little birdie was particularly happy, there's quite a variety in the choir.

One week from today and we'll be on Hawaiian time,
