The Hatch and Mission Hills

Last Two

Today we took a drive over to The Hatch winery which is near where we're staying, it has a unique vibe that's quite quirky, and we tried out a few of their wines, lots of fun.  :)

From there we drove up to Mission Hills winery which was the polar opposite of the Hatch, more formal but also has a nice feel to it, and the views from there are spectacular.

After spending some time in the Tasting Room we took our purchases and went outside to enjoy some chilled wine, along with the picnic we had brought with us.  There's numerous tables and chairs there so we found a spot to relax and enjoy for awhile, and at 5pm the bells of the Mission sounded - beautiful.

We took a stroll around the property before we left, the well-marked vineyard is amazing.

This is our last day here in the Okanagan, tomorrow morning we'll head home after perhaps spending a bit of time at the pool before we leave.  It's been a great week!

Naramata Bench Wine Tour

We started our tour with lunch at Lake Breeze, the food was delicious...

From there it was a leisurely drive along the Naramata Bench stopping at several wineries on our way.  We couldn't miss stopping at Ruby Blue's!

Next stop was at Red Rooster next door, which had a few interesting metal sculptures...

From there it was on to Poplar Ridge and 8 Generations wineries and eventually back to our home base at Barona Beach, it was a great day!

A Lazy Afternoon...

Beautiful surroundings, vineyard and lakeviews, amazing flowers...

When you're not sure which wine to order you can always order a tasting flight!

Charcuterie boards of meats and cheeses, delicious little bites...

After that it was time to wander in the vineyard and then down to the grassy lookout to enjoy the rest of the afternoon sunshine.  

West Kelowna

Barona Beach Resort

We got up this morning and headed to West Kelowna (aka Westbank) to join Ken and Shirl for a five night getaway - awesome!

Perfect weather here, lots of pool time in the next five days for sure!

After a 3 1/2 hour drive we arrived at our destination, we had a bite to eat and headed straight to the pool - it doesn't get much better than this!
