After a quick trip into Kona to buy a new waterproof camera (unfortunately ours didn't like the sand and surf) we stopped in at a quiet little spot just south of the Four Seasons resort. It's accessed through their property and they make sure to send you along an access road and not the nicely groomed resort!
This is the resort turnoff, the beaches in Hawaii are all open to the public it just takes finding the shoreline access points - which in some cases it seems to be a well kept secret.
This snorkel beach is a beautiful spot, almost deserted.
We scored a picnic table no problem
We shared the beach with this guy.
Ted saw yellow Tang, angel fish, lots of a purple variety, and also a large turtle.
When I went in I saw a huge school of a clear/white fish with a black dot midway on their bodies, plus lots of small coloured fish.
Looks like an awesome beach! Ruby is waiting to see the promised picture of Gpa doing a headstand on a surfboard on the water.....
ReplyDeleteLove the turtle pic.
