Stretching...
Hydrating...
Almost time for the swim to start - across the Hilton lagoon and back.
Once out of the water it was sneakers on and she took off running!
Bennett ran his race in his bare feet and the announcer stated that he ran it like an original lavaman runner!
G'pa even made a cheering sign for them to see while running, not that they couldn't hear him! |
Two medalists, and a future competitor.
Lavaman Triathalon
Rick likes to swim, bike and run so what better place to do those things than here on the Big Island, although the heat here is a lot different than at home.
There were people from all over the world and the beach was a happening place both before, after and during the event with music, announcers, participants and spectators all having a great time. The race was a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and a 10K run, and Rick was happy with his time of 2:32:56.
