Hop On - Hop Off - Day #1

We've been told that this is a great way to get an overview of the city so we bought a 48 hr pass. We were first in line at the bus stop origin so we could be sure to get seats on the top, where we spent the first hour and a half in the sunshine.  There's lots of plazas or squares with monuments, and also just some interesting things to see that would probably be missed if we were driving ourselves or just walking.

Jacaranda trees are in full bloom everywhere here - beautiful.

 The Vasco da Gama cable bridge over the Tagus River is the longest in Europe at 17 kilometers, has six lanes and the speed limit is 75mph.
